Happy New School Year!!!!
My name is Eileen Galough but the children and some adults have a tough time pronouncing my last name. Feel free to call me "Mrs. G.". I feel extremely privileged to have the opportunity to teach these wonderful students.
Professionally, I went to Graduate School at St. Rose and obtained my Masters in Education. I'm NYS Certified in Childhood Education Grades 1-6 and hold an Extension to teach 7-9 Social Studies. My student teaching was done in the Albany School District and was hired to substitute teach for them shortly after. The next year, I covered a 5th grade class, during a family leave, at Ravena-Coeymans- Selkirk School District and stayed as a substitute teacher until I was hired here at St. Ambrose. This will be my third year and I have enjoyed my time teaching. It is a wonderful community of learning.
Now for the good stuff... I'm an older teacher. This is my second career. I've been married for almost 19 years to a wonderful man. We have a son who will be attending high school in September. We also have a Chocolate Lab that is two years old and very huge. Her name is Mocha and I'm sure the children will be telling you lots of stories about her. She is quite the handful at times.
Spiritually, I'm Roman Catholic. I feel teaching was my calling from God. I was brought up in the faith and taught Faith Formation until I went back to school. My journey to teach began there and is ending at a Catholic School. I'm so proud to be part of this great staff and will make sure your child will receive religious guidance as well.
Again, I'm so happy to be here at St. Ambrose. If you have any questions, feel free to email or call me. My hope is for a wonderful and successful year.
